Hitchhiking to Frankfurt Am Main

Hitchhiking to Frankfurt?

Sometimes, Frankfurt is called the New York of Germany. This is mainly because of all the high buildings found in the city. Frankfurt also is the financial center of Germany and Europe with the European Central Bank located in the city. During World War II, the city has been bombarded. At the time of rebuilding the city, the Main River did not have any economic value anymore. Thanks to that, the riverside of the Main River is a nice place to relax and enjoy the sight and is it not an industrial area.

Contest

For the first time, Thor organizes a hitchhiking contest. In teams composed of two persons, you will hitchhike to Frankfurt am Main. The main goal of the contest is to get as fast as possible in Frankfurt. But there are also other categories where you can achieve victory. In these categories it’s all about creativity and fun. More details on these other categories will be given on the contest day.

What, When, Where, How long?

The contest start on Friday the 21st of March around 11:00 AM in Eindhoven. From Frankfurt we will travel back to Eindhoven by bus on Sunday the 23rd of March.

Frankfurt is fairly easy to get within 5 hours by hitchhiking. So most of the teams will arrive Friday around 4:00 PM. In Frankfurt you are basically free to do what you want to do. Of course, the organization already searched for the best places you must see.
